5 Chinese diet elements and Taoism
Introduction of 5 Chinese diet elements
According to traditional Chinese medicine, you will have 5 Chinese diet elements to manage a balanced way to always stay healthy. Operating philosophy of the Tao revolves around five interdependent elements. Accordingly, the Chinese diet and therapy resulting will also rotate around these five elements.
These five elements, what are they?
The 5 elements of the original construction of the world are wood, fire, earth, metal and water, each item considered by the Chinese philosophy of Tao, is associated with a season and an active role to achieve. Wood for example is associated with spring and plant growth that occurs during this period. Fire heat of summer etc.
You can see in the table below the multiple associations made for each element.
Interdependence of the 5 elements
The interdependence of each element occurs at two levels:
A generative relationship
It’s a mother-daughter relationship in fact: Water (and especially the melting of the winter snows) allows the growth of wood in spring. It will burn in the heat and light of summer and the ash that results will feed the Earth. On Earth, we will be able to recover the elements of Metal. Finally Metal, which is cold, makes the vaporous water (with hot air of summer) and ice, and the cycle begins again with the rains and the melting ice of winter. That’s the immutable generative relationship.
A control relationship
You can still see this as a great mother-daughter relationship. The underlying philosophy is that water can extinguish the fire, it can melt the metal; which can cut wood. and it can through its roots to shake the earth.
The concept of balance
Chinese therapeutic each symptom will be bound to one of the vital organs and thus to one of the elements. For imbalance of a major organ, it will be important to investigate the cause.
Reminder of previous episodes: the balance is always between the Ying and Yang in each organ. Therefore, the generative relationship will also take place between the Yin and Yang of each organ to the next.
In Chinese diet, the design of a balanced diet is when each organ receives the food that appropriate itself at a given time. For example, in the spring, which is the season of Wood and therefore Liver, we will have to feed more in depth this body … while feeding other organs also … it’s complex look like that but do not worry, we will clear all .
