a heart rate monitoring integrated into the runners' fabric

At CES 2019 in Las Vegas, Heartbit will unveil next week a device integrated into a running T-shirt, capable in real time of monitoring the heart of an athlete and alerting him to the slightest anomaly. It is an algorithm designed with the IBM Watson computer which analyzes the thousands of data sent every second.

Despite the monitoring of increasingly specialized medical staff and regular effort tests, it unfortunately happens that athletes are victims of heart attacks orstroke during training, during a race or a match. To prevent them and monitoring the heart of an athlete in real time, Heartbit has developed the first portable cardiac monitoring device. Equipped with sensors Bosch, combined withartificial intelligence ofIBM Watson, the device in silicone attaches to a special brand textile, and in real time, it is able to record measurements at a frequency 2,000 Hz through electrode, or 10,000 points per second.

Why is this so innovative when we already find on the market heart rate monitors that are placed at the level of sternum but also smart health connected clothes ? The big news is that HeartBit incorporates five electrodes into its T-shirt with a three-lead system. It is now the most successful portable heart rate monitoring, and it does not just display the heart rate.

An application for iOS and Android

Thanks to this more complete system, which compares the runner's old data, stored in the Cloud, to measurements made in real time, the device is thus able to detect anomalies, and to issue warning signals to prevent the runner. Clearly, whether it'sarrhythmia or atrial fibrillation, the level of heart stress is closely monitored, and at the slightest worrying signal, the runner is warned by his watch or smartphone it door on the wrist or arm. Much less alarming, and compatible with apps for iOS and Android, the device can also warn the athlete that he is in poor shape as soon as he warms up, to prevent the latter from getting “in the red” and being injured.

To create this smart garment, Heartbit worked with the research laboratory for bioelectric cardiac imaging at the University of Pannonia in Hungary, and it is at CES 2019, which will take place from January 8 to 11, 2019, in Las Vegas, that we can discover and Review this garment.
