A lamp that works with Alexa

Alexa is literally invading our interiors. As proof, the little Covi smart health connected lamp; a lamp that incorporates Amazon’s voice assistant.

Covi has just been unveiled by the German company Senic on the crowdfunding site KickStarter. Thanks to this lamp and Alexa, you will be able to execute voice commands as you would with an Amazon Echo.

Covi Alexa lamp

Besides Alexa, what's interesting about this smart lamp is that it uses the open source health home Assistant platform. A good point since it will allow it to be integrated into a maximum of health home automation environments and smart health connected objects. I am thinking in particular of Nest and Sonos products which will be compatible with Covi.

To strengthen its connectivity, the lamp is also compatible with IFTTT. This will allow you to create recipes in order to define events according to the different times of the day or even your position; to cite only these examples. In the evening, your lamp can turn on and play a little music thanks to this feature.

But Covi is above all a lamp. It must therefore be integrated into the decoration of your health home. Personally, if I find the form simple enough, I find it quite interesting. Its shape reminds me a little of those of lava lamps. In addition, using the design of a lamp to hide a health home automation device is always a good thing. We do not necessarily want to have a thousand and one objects at health home in addition to our decorative accessories.

If this product interests you, I advise you to quickly go for a quick tour on the crowdfuning site Kickstarter. You can pre-order Covi from 99 euros in early bird. Another good reason to get this smart lamp, Senic said that other voice assistants will be integrated in the future, in 2018; including the Google Assistant or Seni Nuimo's intelligent controllers.
