A smart health connected button that ensures your personal safety
The Canadian start-up Seam Technic has just unveiled Lotus, a small smart health connected button that can be worn as a badge, a necklace or a bracelet.
The Lotus smart health connected button is a unisex smart health smart health connected object currently sold on pre-order at a price of $ 129.95. It works with the iPhone and Android; although the functionality differs.
So what is the Lotus smart health connected button for? In fact, it allows you to make two-way audio calls and control your phone from your device, using Siri or Google Assistant.
It allows you to make a hands-free call to a friend, family member or emergency services by holding two buttons; this feature is only available on Android at this time.
The Seam Personal Safety app itself looks very comprehensive. You can press the two Lotus buttons to start recording images (from both of your phone's cameras), streaming audio, and your GPS location. Then you can also tap again to share this information with up to five emergency contacts. Even in non-emergency situations, this is a nice feature, for example for a friend who comes health home alone at night.
Your information is backed up for free for 24 hours, but Seam Technic also offers a premium service called Seam Plus which allows you to back up your audio files and images for three months ($ 5.99 per month, $ 14.99 for three months or $ 47.99 for 12 months).
As I said, Seam Voice also works with Google Assistant so that your contacts can say "OK Google, where's Mathieu? ". The battery life for Lotus is seven hours on standby, five hours in use. It comes with a charging case that will allow it to operate for 42 hours.
Ultimately, Lotus seems to be a really viable and affordable option in the area of security equipment.
