a smart health connected stethoscope approved by US medical authorities

[ad_1]

The first smart health connected stethoscope to be approved by the US FDA is available in the United States. It is a module to be smart health connected to a stethoscope which transcribes the heartbeat within an application and which helps the doctor to carry out diagnosis.

This module, designed by the Eko company, is attached to a classic stethoscope and allows the beating of a patient’s heart to be recorded on an application. The latter then displays an electrocardiogram via the Bluetooth of the Eko Core and then allows it to be recorded (to compare it with other electrocardiograms) or in certain cases to analyze it thanks to a proprietary algorithm and to compare it with a database to find out whether or not there is a problem. In any case, the company indicates that its app does not provide any diagnosis but simply adds additional means of analysis to the doctor.

The Eko Core is the first smart health connected stethoscope to be approved by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA), the American administration in charge of medical equipment. As indicated the official website, the Core is compatible with many standard stethoscopes and the module alone is sold for 199 dollars while a bundle including a stethoscope and the module is sold for 299 dollars. The app is currently only available on iOS devices and an Android app is under development.
