A smart health connected toy to learn to code
Hackaball is an educational smart health connected toy since it aims to teach children to program, to code. Launched on Kickstarter last year, this programmable toy for children is now almost complete.
Hackaball is expected to ship in March. Back in pre-order, you can soon buy it for $ 85. On the outside it looks like a fairly standard balloon, but inside there is a six-axis motion detector and multi-color LEDs.
Children can program it to do all kinds of things using this sensor. This smart health connected toy can also change color when you throw it or when you hold the ball immobile. The idea behind this smart health smart health connected object is therefore that children will be able to create all kinds of games and learn the basics of programming. The Hackaball prototype already looked very promising. An inflatable silicone shell then covered all of the components. The company's CEO, Sebastian Potter, also explains that a silicon sleeve was used to encourage children to open the device and play with it.
To program Hackaball, just use the company’s app on an iPhone or iPad. But what's really impressive is that the app seems to have been designed specifically to appeal to children. The controls are clearly stated and the app directs kids to do things like changing lights or making noise based on certain behaviors.
