The Awair Glow C is a new smart plug. It combines Awair's air quality sensing technology with a smart plug and a customizable night light. It is available at an introductory price of $ 75; 25 dollars less than the old Glow model. After July 31, the Glow C will increase to $ 89.

Seventy-five dollars is a lot of money for a smart plug when you can easily find simple plugs smart health connected on Amazon for less than 20 dollars. The added value of Glow C therefore lies in all the other sensors.

Like the brand's premium products, the Awair Glow C can measure temperature, humidity and volatile organic compounds; or VOC. It can then use this data to trigger the devices smart health connected to it; such as a fan, humidifier, or air conditioner. Then the Glow C also has a motion sensor, so it only turns on a device if there is someone in the room. It also has a fully customizable light that can be used as a night light or to let you know the state of your air quality at a glance. Obviously, a switch is also available.

The Awair app also uses this combined data to provide a score between 0 (poor) and 100 (perfect) for the air quality in the room where the Glow C is installed. It will issue push notifications when it detects changes in air quality; with suggestions on how to deal with the problem.

The application also offers a graph showing the history of changes over time. Also, you can also manually switch the smart plug. And thus define various rules and conditions to trigger the take from the application.

Finally, the Awair Glow C jack can connect to Alexa, Google Assistant, IFTTT and other health home automation devices from Amazon; for more control options. Awair has not specified whether or when Apple's HomeKit support would be added to its product line.
