Acer Air monitoring to monitoring the air in your health home
MWC 2017, the world trade fair for telephony, also gives pride of place to smart health connected objects. Beyond the simple wearables, some companies take the opportunity to present smart health connected objects that were not ready or suitable for CES 2017. This is the case for Acer. The company that we know above all for manufacturing computers has been positioning itself for several years on alternative products. This year, it is presenting the “Air monitoring” at the Barcelona fair, a sensor capable, among other things, of monitoring the air quality in your health home.
LEDs for quick information
It is a small box, designed to be placed on a piece of furniture in your living room. Visually, nothing distinguishes it from a small speaker or a room diffuser. However, the Acer Air monitoring could change your life. This smart health smart health connected object presented at MWC 2017 aims to monitoring the air quality in your health home. "Studies show that people spend around 90% of their time indoors, whether at health home or at work. So we want to give them information on which they can act to make better choices ” says Wayne Ma, Acer IoT manager.
The sensors are able to monitoring the levels of toxic volatile organic compounds, carbon dioxide, PM2.5, PM10, temperature and humidity. An LED system tells you if the air quality is good or if you need to react. The Air monitoring can also interact with other smart health connected objects in your health home, such as throwing a fan.
Acer multiplies initiatives
While air quality control is the primary function of the Acer Air monitoring, there are other interesting features, however. In particular, it allows you to adjust the lighting in the room automatically so that it is pleasant for everyone. When you go to bed, it will automatically turn off the lights and also go into “night” mode. This way, without disturbing you visually, it can continue to monitoring the air quality in your health home.
It is an understatement to say that Acer has positioned itself in recent years on products different from its usual market. At MWC 2016, the company presented a hyper-futuristic helmet. This allowed you to control a car by thought. Based on the technology of electroencephalography, This technology aimed to reduce driving accidents. But the prototype does not seem to have been further developed yet. However, the various smart health connected objects presented at IFA 2016 are already there. Among them, Xplova, a smart health connected handlebar for cyclists or GrandPad, the tablet for seniors.
The Acer Air monitoring should arrive on the market between May and June 2017. It remains to be seen whether it will succeed in making its mark on a market already well occupied by the competition.
