Alexa the brain of Amazon Echo offered to manufacturers of objects

Alexa, the brain of the Amazon Echo will be offered free of charge to all third-party device and device manufacturers. This announcement comes a few days after the marketing of Echo in the United States.

Alexa is the voice service of Echo. Stored in the cloud, this language engine can interpret, learn, respond to and control devices. Amazon has announced that Alexa voice service (AVS) is available for developers to integrate with other smart health connected devices. They will therefore not have to develop a specific language platform and will be able to add voice control for all kinds of devices.

The incredible thing is that AVS will be free. Just add a few lines of code to make it work with your smart device. So you could talk to your clock, your TV, your doll, etc.

Amazon has also announced the Alexa Skills Kit (ASK) which provides APIs and tools for creating new functionality for AVS. The program will be launched next month!
