Traditional properties of aloe vera

It is traditionally used in producing countries to act against burns, sunburn, irritation, insect bites, wounds, dermatoses, bedsores, cracks… The repeated application of Aloe Vera soothes the irritation, burning and pain to accelerate healing and immediately provides a cooling effect that relieves.

 The use in modern cosmetics

Modern research has shown that indeed, Aloe Vera hydrates the skin thanks to its considerable percentage in water, and especially that it can preserve the moisture of the skin.

• Aloe Vera nourishes and regenerates the skin and fights against ageing:

– Aloe Vera penetrates the skin much more easily than water. It easily crosses the epidermis to nourish the dermis and the hypodermis and activate micro blood circulation thanks to its richness in vitamins and amino acids. It therefore accelerates the production of new cells.

– Thanks to its proteolytic enzymes, Aloe Vera eliminates dead cells that clog the pores of the skin and asphyxiate them. It then helps the growth of new cells thanks to the many nutrients it contains. As a result, it acts against stretch marks, birthmarks or age spots, redness.

• Aloe Vera protects the skin: The normal pH of the skin is slightly acidic which allows it to resist the various micro-organisms that can attack it.

• Aloe Vera rebalances the pH of the skin due to its pH which is very close to it.

• It is also a powerful astringent due to the monos and polysaccharides and amino acids it contains. The polysaccharides present in Aloe could explain its ability to fight against aging.

By firming the epidermis, the complexion is rejuvenated and the skin is thus better protected against external aggressions.

 The different Aloe Vera products

• The freezeIt is the most powerful. In cosmetics, it is used as a gentle massage of the face, neck and décolleté after cleansing the skin. It may be enough on its own to moisturize oily skin. Its astringent effect tightens the pores and leaves the skin feeling soft and firmer.

• CreamIt has the same properties with an increased moisturizing effect. Very dry skin will rather use the cream, or the gel and then the cream on top.

• ShampooIt regulates seborrhea, is antibacterial and anti-mycotic (improves dandruff). It coats the hair and makes it shiny.

Recognize the quality of a product

Aloe vera cosmetics must be made from the fresh extract, thus guaranteeing a high content of polysaccharides which are the constituents mainly responsible for its therapeutic action.

Products made from concentrate contain few polysaccharides because the juice has been heated. For those made from dehydrated Aloe, the reformation of polysaccharides in contact with water is not very credible.

No serious therapeutic claims can be made in these two cases.A product certified “organic” by Ecocert must be free of heavy metals, hydrocarbons, pesticides, dioxins, GMOs, nitrates. the percentage of ingredients of natural origin and that of organic ingredients must be clearly indicated. He then obtained the Cosmebio label.
