Alpha Labs unveils its Alpha smartglasses
Right now, no one can escape the various augmented reality devices and technologies. However, it is difficult to take them with you everywhere. Alpha Labs, a South Korean company, has therefore developed smart glasses that almost resemble classic eyeglasses.
Alpha Labs has chosen Kickstarter to unveil its Alpha Glass. If the fundraising campaign comes to an end, these AR smart glasses should be available by 2018. However, for the moment, only “Development Kits” are available on Kickstarter; a way of signaling that these glasses are not yet ready for mass marketing.
Unlike other smart glasses we've seen so far, the information that appears would cover much of the lens glass; and not a little corner like Google Glass. The goal: to make augmented reality more authentic and immersive. To function the Alpha Glass use a modified version of Android. They also have a touch interface to process notifications, photos, etc. Bone conduction speakers and a microphone were also added to the device. Finally, a camera will allow you to take photos and videos.
As you can see, thanks to the glasses from Alpha Labs, you will have notifications directly in your field of vision. You can also easily navigate the streets since the directions to take will appear right in front of you. To go further, you can also pair your glasses with your fitness equipment such as your heart rate monitoring and discover your statistics in real time on the glasses.
If the front of the glasses seems thin enough, the temples are not … far from it. However, it is clear that these glasses are less bulky than helmets.
Interested in this product ? You can pre-order it for $ 649. After the crowdfunding campaign, they will cost $ 720.
