Alta – The new bracelet signed FitBit
Alta is the new fitness tracker from the Fitbit brand. Marketed at a price of $ 130, this new smart health connected bracelet's mission is to energize the company's aging product line; if it’s not already too late.
Alta is therefore an entry level bracelet. Its mission: activity tracking, sleep tracking, sending reminders, setting the time and displaying smartphone notifications. All that's missing is monitoring the heart rate. Alta even offers the possibility of changing the bracelet. A boon for FitBit which will offer many varieties of different styles. Alta is offered with many finishes of colors and textures.
Fitbit plans to start shipping Alta to North America in March. The rest of the world will follow in April 2016. As I told you, the brand's new smart health connected bracelet will be sold at a price of $ 130. The additional bracelets will be sold at $ 30, $ 60 and $ 100.
Suffice to say that Fitbit will treat the launch of this new product. This is indeed its first consumer product launch since January 2015! The last product was Charge HR. FitBit has no interest in missing out because its position as leader on the fitness tracker market is more than ever threatened by very talented and often more affordable challengers.
Alta therefore points its nose a few weeks after Fitbit announced the Blaze fitness watch at CES 2016. Priced at $ 200, the Blaze had notably surprised by its design. It also leaves a lot of room for personalization. The FitBit Blaze is also able to automatically detect activities such as running, walking, tennis, basketball, soccer and workouts on an elliptical machine.
To conclude, the question is the same for these two products: Will FitBit be able to find a place in two markets that are now more than saturated?
