Amazfit Watch – Xiaomi's first smartwatch
Chinese tech giant Xiaomi will present its first adult smartwatch at the next IFA show. The name of this little smart health connected watch: Amazfit Watch.
Amazfit Watch will be marketed by Xiaomi's sub-brand: Huami. Little info: it would be the first smartwatch in the world to be equipped with a 28nm GPS sensor. In addition to this sensor, the watch is equipped with a heart rate sensor on the back which will allow you to follow your beats continuously. You can view this information, and more, on a 1.34-inch 300 x 300 resolution screen.
This Android compatible watch is IP67 certified. This means that it is resistant to water, dust and sweat. Its ceramic body will also allow it to be resistant to scuffs and scratches.
Inside, a 1.2 GHz processor with 512 MB of RAM and 4 GB of internal storage. According to Xiaomi, the smartwatch's battery should allow it to operate for five days on a single charge; which is not bad at all. On the other hand if the GPS is activated, the autonomy increases to 35 hours. Finally, if you only use the watch as a tracker, the battery life is good for 11 days of use.
As for smart functions, the watch can display notifications from your phone and can make mobile payments via AliPay. As you can see, the Amazfit Watch does not work with Android Wear. The brand chose to opt for its own operating system running the Mii Fit app. On the price side, you will have a good surprise. The watch will be offered at a price of 799 Yuan; or about 110 euros.
The watch will be available this week in China, but we will have to wait a bit longer before we can get it in France. As usual, the brand launched its product on its domestic market before marketing it in other countries around the world.
