With its box, the Vogel’s Thin 545 clearly not seeking attention. Mainly white and content with a few indications on the machine, we can even qualify it as dull. However, with the exception of a drilling template & the spirit level, no tools are provided. So you will need a drill, screwdriver and the confidence to do the job.

Installation

If you have basic DIY skills, the fixing is simple and the holes are arranged in standard configurations ranging from 100 x 100 to 600 x 400 mm. Things are of course less easy if you are trying for the first time to assemble an object of its kind. We can then regret the very schematic instructions present in the user manual. It becomes fast tedious to understand what all the arrows and symbols mean. Despite everything, the installation does not take so much time (about 1h30) and, if the instructions are followed, it does not pose no real problem.

If the installation is not a big problem, the use of the articulated support is even less problematic. It’s very easy to rotate your screen in the direction you want, up to 63 cm. In the same way, we can turn 90 ° to the left or right and tilt it about 20˚. The mechanical arm is solid and is not likely to break during handling. We will also note a cable inlay system. This is compatible with other Vogel’s products and covers the connection related to the screen. Here is a function both aesthetic, with invisible cables, and practical since there is no risk of unexpected disconnections.

Conclusion

The Vogel’s Thin 545 is an innovative wall mount. If its appearance does not really reveal its peculiarities, it is felt during use. So, we rotate and tilt the screen as desired, with great freedom. The device remains discreetfirstly because of its size, but also because of the inlay of its cables. We regret by cons the absence of tools in the box and a manual which sometimes lacks clarity. Despite everything, we are faced with a very good product that will delight television fans.
