An iPhone dock as a Hub for HomeKit?

Apple has just filed a new patent application for an iPhone dock. He reveals that the latter would be able to communicate with smart health connected devices and health home accessories thanks to its wireless Wi-Fi technology.

So, is the apple brand preparing a new Hub for HomeKit? Is this an alternative or a complementary solution for those who do not wish to acquire an Apple TV box?

Indeed, rumors have been circulating for a while and designate the Apple TV as the future Hub for Apple's health home automation system; HomeKit. But an iPhone dock seems more logical to seduce the very large number of iPhone owners and encourage them to connect their homes.

This patent application also tells us that this dock will be equipped with LEDs to indicate the charge level of the device, an audio mode and that proximity sensors can be used to trigger display functions, such as for example when you approach your hand to grab the phone.

Obviously, like any patent or patent application, it is not a roadmap on what will be this dock or the HomeKit hub. However, this is an interesting possibility to follow very ready!
