Arlo has now been offering a very complete ehealth surveillance system for a few years now, and it is really practical thanks to its totally wireless cameras. I myself have been equipped with it since the very first models, whether for the health home, but also for my leisure ground thanks to the model Arlo Go operating in 4G. But the Arlo system also offers other peripherals to complement its system: this is the case, for example, of the Arlo Audio Doorbell doorbell that we will discover today.

I. Unpacking the Arlo Audio Doorbell

For this Review, I obviously used the Arlo Audio Doorbell, but accompanied by another practical accessory: the Arlo Chime “chime”, whose only function will be to ring when someone actuates the doorbell button.

The Arlo Audio Doorbell is delivered complete, with two AA batteries, a small screwdriver, fixing screws, and a small adapter cable.

The Arlo Audio Doorbell doorbell is as its name suggests an audio doorbell: the device is therefore relatively simple, since it only has a central doorbell button, lit by an LED ring all around. The box has, however, a presence detector, which will make the light circle flash several times, as if to indicate to the visitor where to press. But above all, it has two-way audio communication, to allow discussion with its visitor.

This doorbell is very compact, since it is only 9cm high and 4.5cm wide. The back of the case can be dismantled to give access to the battery compartment.

The chime has a very minimalist design. At the front, a fabric reminiscent of very fashionable speakers.

At the back, an electrical outlet: the chime will simply plug directly into an electrical outlet.

Only one button on the side will allow synchronization with the existing system, as is usually done with the system cameras.

In addition, note that the possession of an Arlo station, already necessary for wireless cameras, will be necessary for the use of this doorbell. It will not be able to function alone!

So let’s go to the system configuration …

The Arlo camera system was already excellent for surveillance. Adding a doorbell is a great idea, both for comfort and to add another safety organ to the ecosystem.
