Arlo Baby is now compatible with HomeKit
The small Arlo Baby health home automation camera was unveiled by Netgear last summer. Functional and offering a very nice design, the Arlo Baby camera caught my eye.
If I’ll tell you again about Arlo Baby, it’s because Netgear has just announced that its camera and all of its smart health home suites are now compatible with the Apple HomeKit.
From now on, you will therefore be able to link the Arlo Baby camera to the Apple health home app and access many of the camera's features via your Apple devices. The most important feature being the ability to access the Arlo Baby's live ehealth stream via the health home app or via Siri.
The health home app can also access the two-way audio function of the Arlo Baby and the most recent screenshot made by Arlo Baby. If you have a fourth generation iPad or Apple TV smart health connected to HomeKit, you can also remotely access live ehealth and audio from the camera.
Arlo Baby is not a standard baby monitoring with images and static sound. This smart health connected camera offers 1080p ehealth, sound and motion detection and also has an integrated music player with soothing tunes for your child. It is also equipped with ambient air quality sensors, an adjustable night light and the ability to recognize the baby's cry. The camera also has free cloud storage, night vision and can record 24/7; just like Netgear's Arlo Q indoor security cameras.
The only downside to this camera is its price! Marketed at a price of 250 dollars, you might as well say that the camera has an interest in being much more efficient than a simple baby monitoring. But despite the price, I am sure that young parents are ready to pay this amount; if only to reassure themselves.
