Arlo Pro 3 Floodlight – A passive-aggressive projector with camera!

The Arlo Pro 3 Floodlight, as the name suggests, is very similar to the existing Arlo Pro 3. But instead of the tiny, built-in projector, it has a gigantic LED projector. I will explain in more detail how it works.

The new device features a 2K HDR camera with a 160-degree field of view. The camera also has color night vision as well as a more traditional black and white night mode. You can both listen to what's going on and speak to the person waiting outside your door using a two-way audio system. The Arlo Pro 3 Floodlight also has a built-in siren to scare everyone around like a big fire.

The Arlo Pro 3 Floodlight can be activated manually or with a movement. Motion activation could be especially useful for people who want to replace the light above their garage door for an all-in-one security and lighting solution.

Although you can plug it directly into a power source, the device also has a rechargeable battery in case you don't want to drill holes. Then the device has an ambient light sensor so that the light only works at night. You can configure a specific threshold to save battery and customize the light pattern. The camera has three modes: constant, flashing and pulsing. Hopefully this does not lead to seizures.

Like other Arlo devices, it is compatible with the Arlo Smart subscription. The Arlo Floodlight will be available in spring 2020 for $ 250. Personally, I think this solution should appeal to a lot of people who want to install a camera outside their health home.
