Atlas, a most promising activity tracker

[ad_1]

Offering a bracelet dedicated to experienced athletes is the goal of Atlas Wearables. Its extreme precision and its ability to quantify a multitude of different sports make the Atlas a complete bracelet. Presentation.

In a few days, the IndieGogo campaign of the company Atlas Wearables will end with great fanfare: the collection objective of 125,000 USD is largely achieved since the company has already obtained more than 530,000 USD for its activity tracker that many consider revolutionary. Faced with ever-increasing competition (Fitbit, Nike, etc.), the American startup has sought to distinguish itself by detaching from the general sensor snapshot. It is clearly not intended for Sunday athletes, its main target being experienced athletes.

Atlas, a smart health connected bracelet announced as revolutionary

Atlas, connected bracelet for athletes

With extreme precision, the tracker is able to quantify around thirty sports different (fitness, swimming, athletics…) as opposed to the others sports bracelets which are mainly based on the calories and steps of the user. Ultimately, even more than 100 different sports can be recognized by the Atlas. Behind this disconcerting precision, the objective of Atlas Wearables is to offer a bracelet dedicated to sports training (and not on a daily basis) who will be able to give advice to the athlete, while measuring the effort in real time: the algorithmic base is integrated in the smart health connected bracelet, so there is no need to sync it to an app to discover its performance. However, iOS, Android and Windows Phone applications will still be offered so that the user can recover their information calmly and better analyze it.

On the technical side, the sensor itself will have the shape of a small case and will simply be fixed in a black silicone strap. It will integrate a OLED touch screen, a rechargeable battery (7 autonomy sessions), a heart rate sensor or a Bluetooth 4.0 chip to be smart health connected to a mobile application. Obviously, standard indicators (time, calories, steps, etc.) will also be available. Sealing level, the Atlas sensor should be able to withstand depth of 50 meters.

The pre-orders are open on IndieGogo with an Atlas bracelet offered at $ 169 (€ 123 + € 11 postage), which is really no exaggeration when compared to offers from generalist competitors. However, you will have to wait december 2014 to receive the tracker, which continues to be improved to the delight of future users …
