Everysight presents the Raptor AR smart health connected reality glasses. Designed for cyclists, this device provides performance information and offers GPS navigation functionality.

Everysight, a company specializing in augmented reality, has just formalized its Raptor AR smart health connected glasses. Unlike Snapchat Spectacles smartglasses, this device is not intended for adolescents but rather for cyclists and triathletes.

The Raptor AR assist the cyclist in his training

The Raptor AR allows athletes to improve their performance and their health by assisting them in their training. Thanks to BEAM technology, patented by Everysight, the user can view information displayed in high resolution on a transparent visor. This information is displayed as if it were projected in front of the cyclist.

The user can for example consult in real time activity time, speed, heart rate, cadence, power and distance traveled since the start of the session. It is also possible to take advantage of a clear and detailed GPS navigation functionality.

Interactivity and companion app

Several options are available for interacting with these smart health connected glasses. User can to choose between a controller to be fixed to the handlebars of the bike, a voice command, or a touchpad located on the branches of the Raptor AR. It is therefore possible to control GPS, volume, brightness, communication and much more. A camera allows videos to be recorded in high definition, to be downloaded and analyzed after the session. These videos can also be shared on various social networks.

The Raptor AR synchronize with external sensors to measure heart rate, cadence, speed, power and other data. The information is then passed to the companion app for iOS and Android. This data can also be shared on social networks. Several third-party fitness and cycling applications also make it possible to use this data, but the firm has not yet specified which ones.

According to Asaf Ashkenazi, CEO of Everysight, most of the smart glasses available today obstruct the vision of the cyclist. On the contrary, the Raptor AR offer a true augmented reality experience by floating information directly in front of the eyes without blocking the athlete's vision. In this way, the risk of falling or colliding with an obstacle is greatly reduced. This device is therefore optimal for cyclists who want to analyze their performance in real time.

A Review program has just been launched as the device enters the final stages of development. It is possible to register for this program on the official Raptor website to benefit from a trial version of these smart health connected glasses. It is not known when the final version of the Raptor AR will be released.
