AVA is a new smart health connected bracelet available on the French market since the beginning of the week. Priced at € 239, it was developed to help you conceive more easily, and even double your chances of having a child. At the same time, it is also sold in Germany, Switzerland, Austria, Spain and the United Kingdom.
The general idea is to help women get to know their bodies better. The system will thus be able to regularly provide them with information on their general condition.
With AVA, women with a regular menstrual cycle can double their chances of conceiving.
More concretely, the device will be able to calculate their hormonal cycle with precision and in real time. Each morning, when she wakes up, the user can then consult this information on her smartphone via a dedicated application.
A bracelet that doubles the chances of conception
The product was designed by a start-up with the same name: AVA. It is a company specializing in innovations in reproduction and monitoring the cycle of women.
The bracelet informs the user of the "five most favorable days" for conception. For this, the device takes into account no less than nine parameters on its general condition.
This is data that the device collects while the woman is sleeping. When he wakes up, AVA will give him a full account of the situation.
Among the nine parameters taken into account, there are, for example, hormone levels, heart rate, temperature variations, etc. The bracelet also measures heat loss and quality of sleep. In addition, it provides information on movements or bio-impedance including the amount of water, fat and muscle in the body.
Effectiveness remains to be demonstrated
According to Why doctor, the site specialized in the field, the device would be "to be taken with tweezers. The site explains that for the moment, there is not yet a study which can confirm the effectiveness of this product. However, we must admit its usefulness, just for the precious information it offers in everyday life for women.
In addition, the device mainly finds its limit in the fact that there are many women whose menstrual cycle is irregular.
Léa Von Bidder confirmed that the bracelet can only work for women who have a cycle "between 21 and 31 days". AVA spokesperson, one of the initiators of the project, said that a study is underway to improve it.
