Babolat and PIQ launch a smart health connected bracelet for tennis

[ad_1]

Update November 18, 2015: The PIQ start-up has formalized a partnership with Mobitee, one of the most popular golf apps, for a golf performance sensor that fits directly on the glove. You can find all the information about this new product using the button below. This one is currently in pre-order for 269 euros.

The French brand Babolat continues its merry way in smart health connected objects. After launching in 2014 the first smart health connected Pure Drive racket, she announces a smart health connected bracelet for tennis fans from a collaboration with the start-up PIQ.

On the same principle as the smart health connected racquet Babolat Play Pure Drive so dear to Rafael Nadal, the new smart health connected bracelet resulting from a work between Babolat and PIQ is able to measure the tennis performance of its wearer. This obviously includes the speed of the balls, the height at which they are hit, the trajectories, the amplitude or the force of gravity. These statistics are available in real time on the small screen of the smart health connected bracelet, but also on an iOS and Android mobile application. Babolat obviously integrates a social dimension, with the 'sharing' easy with those around him via Facebook, Twitter & Cie, but also through many group challenges.

Essential: smart health connected objects to become the next Federer

PIQ is already a specialist in rocker movements since the start-up had already released last July a sensor capable of measuring the effectiveness of golf swings. Meanwhile, it raised 5.5 million euros from Foxconn, Swisscom or Ginko Ventures. This new collaboration gives him a great opportunity to show his technological know-how.

Two models of the smart health connected bracelet will be marketed. First the version "Pop" (90 €), but also the version "Babolat & PIQ" (178 €) which is much more advanced and incorporates NFC and Bluetooth Low Energy. At present, only the high-end version is available for pre-order on the official site PIQ for only 129 €. For those who did not want to change the racket for the smart health connected version of Babolat, here is a good alternative …
