Bamboo Spark – The Wacom smart health connected notepad

At Berlin’s IFA 2015, Wacom presented its Bamboo Spark smart health connected notebook. This “smart folio” allows you to take handwritten notes, or draw on a sheet of paper, save them in the cloud and then view them via the dedicated mobile app.

The Bamboo Spark smart notepad therefore propels good old note taking into the 21st century. Mike Gay, senior vice president of consumer products for Wacom says, "Bamboo Spark is the perfect solution for anyone who appreciates the freedom and simplicity of working with a pen on paper to take written notes and who enjoys share ideas. Whether it's a professional, a student or a lover of smart health connected objects, Bamboo Spark goes where you go, giving you the freedom to choose when and how you want to keep your ideas. "

So how does it work? Everything rests on this case which strongly resembles a classic document holder and the pen with which it is sold. In the case, on the left, you will be able to place your tablet or smartphone and on the right, classic sheets of paper. Then, the ballpoint pen sold with contains a special ink which uses a magnetic resonance technique which will allow you to convert and send via Bluetooth what you write to your mobile terminal which is nearby.

As I told you, once your notes are transferred, you can find them on the application and share them with anyone you want. You can also touch them up and store them in the Cloud. This is the solution for you if you still lose your notes. The Bamboo Spark has 8 hours of battery life on a single charge. You will only need a single USB cable to charge it; what you probably already have on your desk.

The Spark will be available from October 2015 and will be offered at a price of 159 euros. Obviously ink refills will be offered at a price of 9.90 euros for a pack of three cartridges.
