Barclaycard launches new payment bracelet
With BPAY, Barclaycard is launching a new payment bracelet but is still not announcing a partnership with Apple Pay which will be launched in July.
Is BPAY a sign of rebellion by the English bank? Why is she insisting on developing her own contactless payment system? This bracelet is not new, but its new version offers new features and a new design.
Now, this NFC smart health connected payment bracelet works with a new mobile application and a website that allows you to manage your money, travel by metro, purchases, transfers and Visa or Mastercard credit cards.
Payments will be limited to 20 pounds when launched in August, but in September the Card Association in the UK will increase the payment limit to 30 pounds. BPAY wearables are intended for all owners of English cards; and therefore not only to Barclays customers. The bracelet and sticker pack costs 24.99 pounds, the bracelet costs 19.99 pounds and the NFC sticker costs 14.99 pounds… it's sure to be a lot cheaper than an Apple Watch!
BPAY wearables will be on sale in banks but also in stores like CycleSurgery, Runners Need and Snow + Rock starting in August.
It is interesting to see that across the Channel banks are at the heart of this payment revolution when in France our banks do nothing, or do not communicate on it.
