Bayer launches new apps for hemophiliacs

On the occasion of World Hemophilia Day, the Bayer laboratory launched a series of digital applications to make everyday life easier hemophiliacs with the disease. Discovery.

A so-called orphan blood disease, hemophilia today affects 400,000 people worldwide and 7,346 people in France. Each year on April 17, World Hemophilia Day takes place, the objective of which is to mobilize a large audience in the face of the realities of a little-known disease.

On the occasion of WDD 2018, the Bayer laboratory marks its commitment alongside hemophiliacs around the world, with the launch of new mobile applications to facilitate access to information, mutual aid, and support hemophiliacs in taking care of burden of illness on a daily basis: Hemofit, Hemofile and Hemophilia Joint Visualizer.

To respond to the new uses of hemophiliacs, users of digital applications, Bayer offers three applications, intended for hemophiliacs, their entourage and health professionals who support them in monitoring the disease. Practical and educational, they allow hemophiliacs to become fully involved in their disease and to experience it as well as possible on a daily basis. These applications contribute to the good observance of treatment and the establishment of dialogue with healthcare teams.

Hemofit for maintenance and self-rehabilitation exercises

HemoFit is an application designed to help and support hemophiliac patients. The objective of the first part is to avoid the creation of arthropathy of the various joints by carrying out maintenance exercises for all the joint components (mobility, strength and control) while avoiding the appearance of pain and especially hemarthrosis. The objective of the second part is to succinctly present the possibilities of self-rehabilitation in the face of a muscular hematoma in order to avoid serious complications which can become a source of permanent handicap. All the exercises are presented in the form of mini films made in 3D. It is available on iOs and soon on Google play.

 

Hemofile: mobile tracking book

HemoFile is an application that allows you to easily track and record your factor VIII injections and manage your hemophilia A. It allows you to scan the batch numbers of your injections in 1 click. In case of follow-up of prophylactic treatment, it allows to record the dates of its next injections. You can also monitoring your bleeding (location) and assess and quantify your acute pain. The application is available on iOs.

 

Hemophilia Joint Visualiser: interactive tool for healthcare professionals

L’hemophilia Joint View is an interactive 3D digital tool, dedicated to doctors. Its objective is to encourage dialogue with the patient in order to make him aware of the importance of prophylaxis, of its observance and its consequences on his joint condition, and therefore on his quality of life.
