Biography | Maxime Aliaga – Naturalist photographer

Originally from the south of France, Maxime has always been a big curious about nature, he naturally turned after his baccalaureate towards studies in nature protection. Diploma in pocket, he then worked as a field assistant for many studies of the wildlife wild, especially birds, in various countries abroad. He thus studied with scientists for several months the toucans in Costa Rica, a species of passerine endemic in Papua New Guinea, or the sea ​​turtles in the Seychelles.

These missions, as close as possible to nature, have enabled it to explore many wild areas and thus understand their conservation challenges. Always with a camera in hand, he was able to document and photograph wildlife and the people who study and protect them in these remote areas.

In 2014, he joined the photo agency Naturagency as a professional photographer and began to publish his images and stories in magazines. Very involved in the conservation of wild species, he became an active member of the association PPNAT (Photographer for the Preservation of Nature). He also participates in photo festivals where he exhibits his photos and gives talks on his work as a nature photographer.

Today, Maxime is part of the International League of Conservation Photographers (ILCP), an international collective of photographers from around the world very committed to the conservation of ecosystems and endangered species. Specializing in tropical environments, Maxime has focused his work for a few years on orangutans in Southeast Asia who are critically endangeredextinction. Articles in magazines, publications on Internet, photographic exhibitions, they use all communication media to raise public awareness of their cause.
