BITLOCK, the keyless padlock for bikes

[ad_1]

The Bitlock is a smart bicycle lock with the main feature of being without a lock. Amazing indeed because there is no key! Modern, it connects via Bluetooth with a Smartphone and detects the presence of its user. If it is nearby, a simple press will be enough to unlock it. If, on the contrary, it moves away, it will lock automatically. A revolutionary and clever method to compensate for bike theft!

The origins of the smart lock

Keys have always been a source of hassle. Heavy, light, small, large, they have the annoying habit of getting lost easily. In addition, parking a bicycle has become a real challenge in choosing a guarded and secure parking lot for the owner because you are never safe from malicious acts. There is obviously the good old U but it is generally heavy (more than 1 kg all the same), bulky and spoils the paint of the bicycle while riding. Smart objects were therefore created for this purpose, such as the Lockitron smart lock or the FlyKly bicycle wheel, which could be closed using a smartphone. It is with this in mind and as a worthy successor that our product, inventive and ingenious jewel of Mesh Motion, was born.

The advantages of Bitlock

Considered intelligent, it remains however a simple tool and accessible to all. You don't have to be an electronic engineer to master it perfectly. Obviously, it is still in the fundraising campaign on the Kickstarter site and will most likely not be available until around July 2020. In addition, it is not yet certain that it will be marketed on the European continent. Then its price is expensive, $ 140. What sow serious doubt on its real target, when department stores like Decathlon or Go Sport offer good bike locks for less than 40 €. However, despite these shortcomings, it is undeniable that its arrival constitutes a phenomenon that we would all like to Review without moderation.

Other features that make it more than a smart padlock

Here is a small multifunctional wonder. In addition to locking and unlocking, being your bike's best ally against dishonest intentions and obeying your Smartphone, it also allows you to know exactly where it was parked, to calculate the number of kilometers traveled, the calories expended as well as the number of CO2 emissions that we were able to save. Thus, we become more careful, more athletic, more attentive to our health and even contribute to the protection of the environment. It should be noted that even if it is linked only to its owner, it is still possible to assign temporary or long accesses so that close relatives or friends can borrow your bike. And as with any good electronic device, you should not forget the resistance of the battery. And there, bingo: it has an autonomy of 5 years. The only downside is that in case of death, we will no longer be able to recharge it.
