Bluboo xWatch – An Android Wear smartwatch for sports

The Android Wear Bluboo xWatch smartwatch certainly aims to compete with the Moto 360 Sport at the HK Global Source Electronics Show.

Android Wear Bluboo xWatch smartwatch

The Bluboo xWatch is described and above all claimed by the company as "the first Android Wear smartwatch for sport in the world". The Chinese Bluboo does not hesitate to disparage the competing smartwatch produced by Motorola. But then who is telling the truth? Is this famous smartwatch as good as that? Nothing is less certain since the experts begin to doubt that it has a GPS.

Besides, it is not unusual for Chinese companies to artificially inflate the specifications of their products. For example, in the past, the Com 1 smartwatch that launched on crowdfunding site Indiegogo in September 2014 claimed to have a two-day battery life, 3 GB of RAM and 32 GB of storage. The Indiegogo campaign was discontinued following a copyright dispute with Google. Google then said that the company did not even have a license to use its intellectual property.

Unlike Android for smartphones, which have widely adopted the OS with almost 19,000 different devices, so far, only eight brands have officially announced watches approved by Google. Among these brands are brands like Samsung, LG and Tag Heuer.

Going back to the Bluboo xWatch, it therefore seems quite unlikely to see it become the ninth brand … even if Bluboo says it has an Android Wear license.
