Bold Motion – A Movado and HP smartwatch

Bold Motion is a smartwatch made by HP in partnership with the Swiss watchmaker Movado. Offering a simple and elegant design, this analog smart health connected watch is not very advanced in terms of functionality.

Water-resistant to 50 meters, the Movado Bold Motion is made of stainless steel with a black PVD finish but also offers a full black PVD look. Both models have a black silicone strap lined with 3M reflective material.

Instead of a heavy digital display, the smartwatch has a 44 mm diameter dial with LED backlight in blue or white. As I said, if the design is sleek, so are the features. You will not be able to reply to an SMS or read an e-mail on this smart health connected watch. Instead, the LED lights will notify you if you have received a notification by displaying a specific pattern and vibrating. For example, the device starts to flash with a specific pattern to let you know and differentiate if you have received a call or if it is a call back.

Of course, the Bold Motion smartwatch is equipped with a tracker that displays your daily progress by displaying an LED ring on the dial. On the autonomy side, the watch would last a week on a single charge; the same as an example Pebble. Via the app, you can configure the notifications you want to receive and define your daily goals. This application is compatible with iPhone and Android smartphones.

As you’ll probably understand, I’m not overwhelmed by this smartwatch. I think that a company like HP cannot be satisfied with a product like this and should really go further and offer real innovations. If it interests you, you can already buy it at Movado for 695 dollars.
