C by GE – A smart health connected lamp compatible with Alexa
Big crush on this smart lamp. C by GE offers a pretty incredible design but also hides a little secret: this smart health connected lamp is compatible with Alexa.
C by GE is a circular LED lamp that works like an Amazon echo. Thus, it has a microphone allowing you to use voice commands to access the Internet and control other smart health connected objects in your health home.
In addition to that, this lamp is also equipped with a speaker that will allow you to hear Alexa's responses or listen to music. For the moment, nobody has been able to see the product in real life but it seems that the press photos are quite close to the final product.
Another feature: this small lamp can also be controlled from the GE Lighting application; the same that allows you to manage the brand's smart bulbs.
This small GE lamp will be available for pre-order early next year, and will go on sale in the second quarter at an as-yet-unknown price. All we know is that it will cost less than the Amazon Echo.
It is not the first time that the two companies have worked together. In September, GE announced that Alexa could control GE devices such as refrigerators, ovens, dishwashers and washing machines. Even the brand's air conditioners could soon be fitted with them. With such partnerships, Amazon’s voice assistant is fast becoming a benchmark in health home automation. A performance that ringuardizes Apple a little more and that does not fail to outrun Google.
Frankly, I find this beautiful lamp. I’m really looking forward to testing it. Unfortunately, even if this lamp comes out at the start of the year in the United States, there is little chance that it will arrive in France quickly since even the Amazon echo is not yet available in France and that Alexa is not yet available in French.
