[CES 2020] Run with all your heart with the Smart B-Trainer

[ad_1]

Runners know the importance of the song “eye of the tiger” when they are about to give in to the temptation to stop, Sony understood this by presenting its Smart B-Trainer headphones at CES 2020.

The Smart B-Trainer adapts to our heart

This helmet is meant autonomous, so it is possible to send directly his playlist above so you can run your hands and pockets free of any laptop, real comfort for joggers.

The innovation of these headphones is mainly due to the link between the beating of our heart and the music played. To be more precise, the device constantly measures your heartbeat, if it is too high, your helmet will alert you and ask you to set your running pace to music slower than it will broadcast to you. Conversely, if you drag on the road and you do not reach your set goal, it will accelerate the pace by choosing more energetic music.

The technology behind the Smart B-Trainer

It is an evolution of the old walkman by integrating a storage system to his headphones. This helmet is waterproof and contains a GPS and one heart rate sensor.

The NFC technology allows information to be transmitted to the phone, presumably using the Lifelog app from Sony.

A iOS and Android application allows you to program your objectives so that a personal trainer can help us achieve them. It is also possible after your session to know the distance traveled, the settings saved by the device and follow its developments over time.

For the moment the Smart B-Trainer is only at the stage of prototype, neither price nor release date has yet to be released.

These headphones offer real advantages for runners, to start with, no need to have your phone with you… not very useful for joggers who are eager to be able to call the police in the event of an attack but very useful for everyone else .

Then, running against a background sound can be particularly motivating and it is easier to adapt its rhythm to that of the bass drum of the drummer of our favorite group (metalheads excluded, unless you are super-men), than to try to think about a controlled pace.

For the moment at the prototype stage, it would be interesting to know on which algorithm this headphone is based to determine the rhythm of the music… It is finally hoped that it has a certain autonomy so as not to stop in full training and that the price does not run more than one … in reverse.
