CES: Nabu Watch – Razer smartwatch for gamers

As part of the CES, the manufacturer Razer, which specializes in gaming products, presented a watch with “smart functions” for gamers. The Nabu Watch comes with two displays – one of the screens is especially for notifications.

The Nabu Watch from Razer wants to score among other things with its battery life. It is supposed to do its job for twelve months with a conventional button cell. However, own hardware including a special second display, which is operated by its own battery, is responsible for the "smart functions" of the gadget. There should be seven days in here. The resolution of the single-color OLED panel for notifications is 128 × 16 pixels.

In connection with iOS and Android mobile phones and the corresponding app, e-mails, incoming calls and app notifications are displayed on the secondary screen. The Smartwatchpart is magnetically supplied with fresh energy via a proprietary charger from the manufacturer, the connection to the cell phone is made via Bluetooth. The Nabu Watch is protected against impacts and moisture – so far there is no information on the more precise specifications in this regard.

In addition to a conventional watch with world time, alarm functions, stopwatch and timers including smart functions, the Nabu Watch is also a fitness tracker that counts steps and calories, for example. Recorded data can be viewed and evaluated in the corresponding Android or iOS app. What exactly makes the Nabu Watch the "ultimate wearable for gamers" is not clear to us.

The Nabu Watch comes in two versions. The version with a plastic housing should be available from the end of January for $ 149.99, the manufacturer has not yet communicated a European price. The "Forged Edition", however, has a stainless steel housing and costs 239.99 euros. It should be delivered from January 11th and can currently be pre-ordered in Germany.
