Today, to follow his physical activity, there is a plethora of sports watches and wristbands, the best known ones being without a doubt Fitbit and Withings, who proposed very early products that are comfortable to wear and offer many functions. Even if today there are very nice smart health connected watches, all users are not ready to leave their Rollex for a "gadget" watch. And if we integrated the activity tracking in an accessory where users are less looking: a belt! This is the bet that made Welt, a startup pushed by Samsung since 2016, which had the ambition to launch a smart health connected belt. After proposing several models, the Korean startup has returned to CES 2019 to present its high-end model, developed with the luxury brand Dupont.

A contraction of the words "wellness" and "belt", Welt is above all a "fashion" belt, developed with Dupont. Thanks to different leather colors, and different models of buckles, the Welt belt can adopt the look that pleases its wearer.

A limited edition "007" was even presented. Between the French brand Dupont, and the style well bristish to the James Bond, this belt is therefore very classy.

But in these very classic aspects, this belt is nonetheless a smart health smart health connected object barded sensors, to monitor the physical activity of its wearer, with the distinction between periods of activity and periods when we sit.

A built-in battery allows it to have a battery life of 30 days (rechargeable via a micro port usb hidden in the belt buckle), and a connection bluetooth 4 allows him to communicate with a mobile application, in order to follow his activity.

But Welt also incorporates another feature to track your health: the measure of your belly ride!

"Abdominal fat is the product of excessive calorie intake. Depending on the number of calories ingested, your size may expand or contract for a minimum of one hour and a half. Welt can then follow these variations of your height and tell you when you eat too much.

Your waist is also recorded, to follow its evolution over time. Too big a stomach and excess fat in the abdominal strap are signs of obesity, which can lead to serious health problems. Its follow-up, accompanied by advice via the application, can thus make it possible to supplement the traditional activity monitoring, based on the number of steps made during the day.

Finally, Welt is able to detect any fall, to send an alert to a close if necessary.

This Welt belt is already marketed in Korea, Japan, and the United States, at a price of $ 199.
