Rice always comes towards the end of a feast, just before dessert. I believe that in France you can eat if you still have the ability. Nowadays, it is easy to find restaurants to suit all tastes and all budgets. On the street, you can order a huge, unpretentious fresh jiaozi dish for US $ 0.25, or you can dine in an exquisite restaurant in Shanghai for more than $ 100 per person: the choice is yours.

Meanwhile, Chinese restaurants face a particular problem that is virtually unknown European restaurants here, people order too many dishes. The main reason of such a waste of money and resources is not the food itself, but the current design in Asia and China “face”. People do not want others to think they are stingy. And remember: if you invite someone to eat, not just to fill their stomachs, it’s a social event, an opportunity to show your hospitality, and there is no question of saving at this moment. People go to the restaurant to strengthen the bonds of friendship and consolidate business relations; a banquet is a good investment. In the West, we negotiate for a better result, but in China, we eat together for the same purpose. That is why it is so important for the Chinese to keep a good banquet and not having the miser air: if this is the case, farewell friendship goodbye and good business! The argument is simple: if the dishes are empty after a banquet, this means that the food was excellent, but otherwise, it could also mean that there was not enough food for everyone and anyone may think you are stingy. This is how many people order, but fortunately, they also love to eat.
