Chinese Google creates a smart health connected bike

A few months ago, the Chinese internet giant Baidu announced … forks wands smart health connected to analyze the quality of the ingested ingredients. In the meantime, the group announced that they are working on a smart health connected bike which would directly compete with a similar project led by Samsung. Without having more details on the output or the price of the Baidu DuBike, however, we were able to find some images and the main features of this smart bicycle.

Baidu DuBike

Baidu DuBike will have a built-in GPS

In terms of features first, the Baidu DuBike promises to be really complete. It would not only be able to measure the cyclist’s physical activity (heart rate, pedaling speed, air pressure, etc.), recharge the smartphone and as a bonus, it could also be used as a GPS. This last point is particularly practical for finding your way based on real-time traffic, but also for finding your bike in the event of theft. Bike owners will also have access to a private social network dedicated to DuBike.

If the number 1 search engine in China is not necessarily renowned for its design, we can appreciate that it has outsourced a large part of the aesthetics of the smart health connected bike to Tsinghua University in Beijing. At first, only one frame (there will be no distinction between men and women) and only one color (gray) will be available. Once the machine started, one can widely imagine that Baidu will decline the DuBike in different colors.

Obviously, who says "smart health connected" also says smartphone. Thanks to a Bluetooth connection, the cyclist can retrieve all the information on a mobile application dedicated to this. Baidu announced that she would even be able to give recommendations based on the activity of the cyclist on his bike. Unfortunately, we are not ready to see the product arriving on Western markets, Baidu being primarily focused on the Middle Kingdom. However, one can widely imagine that in the coming years, this kind of product will hit the market. You can find here all the prototypes and initiatives on smart health connected bikes.
