Chinese rice cake-Chinese food and nutrition for January 23

Chinese rice cake

Ingredients Chinese rice cake

1/2onion

50g of Chinese cabbage

1carrot strips of rice cakes

seasoning

3tbsp chilli sauce

2spring onions, sunflower oil

300ml water

15 minutes

Steps Chinese rice cake:

1.Peel carrots, wash and cut into strips. Peel the onion and cut into julienne.Cut Chinese cabbage into pieces, sliced spring onions. Heat the sunflower oilin the wok, add the onion and carrot and fry all high heat.

2.Pour 300 ml of water, add the pieces of Chinese cabbage. Boil over high heat,then add chili sauce.

3.Cook the soup until thick, add the rice cakes bands , cook, stirringoccasionally, until just tender.

4.When there is a little soup, add the spring onions and cook all for a moment.Remove and serve.

Tips:

Donot add extra salt or other seasonings, because the chili sauce is salty, sweetand spicy.

2c Round cabbage

1-1/2c Chinese white turnip

1c Carrots

1-1/2c Cucumber

1c Celery

4c Water

2sl Fresh ginger root

2-(up to)

3Dried red peppers

8Black peppercorns

1ts Sherry

4tb Salt

ChinesePickles Preparation

1.Wash and corecabbage; cut in 2-inch cubes. Peel turnip and carrots; cut lengthwise inquarters, then crosswise in 2-inch sections. Peel cucumbers; cut in 2-inchslices. Cut celery stalks in 2-inch sections. 2. Wipe all vegetables withcheesecloth; then spread out to dry for four hours. Transfer vegetables to acrock or jar. 3. Bring water to a boil. Slice ginger root and add. Add driedred peppers, peppercorns, sherry and salt. Let simmer 1 minute; then removefrom heat and let cool. 4. Pour over vegetables and cover tightly. Let stand(unrefrigerated) 3 to 4 days in cool weather, only 2 days in summer. NOTE: Themarinade can be used again to pickle other vegetables if 1/4 cup sherry, 2teaspoons brown sugar and 1/2 teaspoon salt are added.

12oz Vermicelli

1bn Green Onions; Thinly Sliced

1/3c Tahini

3tb Teriyaki Sauce

2tb Chopped Garlic In Oil

1/2ts Salt

FreshlyGround Pepper

ChineseSesame Noodles Preparation

Inlarge pot of boiling salted water, cook the noodles according to packagedirections until tender but still firm. Drain, reserving 1/3 cup of the cookingwater. Add the warm cooking water to the tahini and stir until smooth. Add thegreen onions, teriyaki sauce, garlic, salt and pepper. Blend well, then pourover the noodles and toss gently until the noodles are well coated with thesauce. Serve immediately or refrigerate and serve cold.
