control your windows with Siri
Today I'm going to talk to you about Velux Active with Netatmo, a product created jointly by the roof window brand Velux and Netatmo. Besides, it's been a long time since I last mentioned this last brand to you.
Netatmo and the roof window specialist Velux have joined forces for a new system compatible with Apple HomeKit: Velux Active with Netatmo. I’ll explain what it’s all about.
Velux Active with Netatmo is a plug-and-play health home automation system that can automatically control windows, blinds and shutters. The Velux Active with Netatmo includes an indoor temperature sensor, a phase shift switch and an internet gateway hub that works with a dedicated smartphone app.
Owners of Apple devices can use HomeKit to control the system when using their iPhone, iPad, Apple Watch, HomePod or Apple TV. And it also supports Siri voice control, so you can control your window and shutter by voice. At this time, we don't yet know if and when there will be compatibility with Amazon's Android and Echo devices.
The system can also be fully automated, by monitoring temperature, humidity and CO2 concentration. Better that the system works perfectly … otherwise watch out for water damage when it rains …
But a priori, no worries on this side. Algorithms have been developed specifically for this system and also take into account weather forecasts from online sources and other external factors.
The Velux Active starter pack with Netatmo is available for 249 euros, while the additional indoor temperature sensor can be added 99 euros. You can buy the system on the Velux or Netatmo website.
