Corbeil-Essonnes hospital hackers publish patient health data

The news is not good on the side of the South Ile-de-France Hospital Center (CHSF), a structure bringing together 27 health establishments in Essonne. Seeing that the ransom had not been paid, the hackers followed through on their threat and released the data stolen in the August 20 cyberattack. They concern users, staff and partners of the hospital, revealed the CHSF on September 23.

In the details, administrative data are concerned, including the directory registration number (NIR), which corresponds to the social security number. Also health data, such as examination reports and in particular external anatomocytopathology files (examination of organs, tissues and cells), radiology and analysis laboratories.

The attack is limited to virtual servers

On the other hand, the CHSF business databases, which include personalized patient files (DPI) and files relating to human resources management, were not compromised. The CHSF concludes that the attack seems to have been contained "to virtual servers"and about"10%" of its storage space.

The hospital continues to collaborate with the National Information Systems Security Agency (Anssi) and to keep the National Commission for Computing and Freedoms (Cnil) informed. The investigation, entrusted to the center for the fight against digital crime (C3N), is also continuing.
