Cortana will soon arrive in your refrigerators

What if Cortana, Microsoft's voice assistant made your refrigerators smarter ?! This is in any case the project of the American giant who has allied with the company Liebherr to create a smarter and faster refrigerator.

Cortana will therefore be Microsoft's contribution to this partnership; but not only. Microsoft will also be providing its technology through its Microsoft Cognitive Computer Services Vision API which will allow the refrigerator to identify objects and food inside.

But then, what good could a smart health connected and smarter refrigerator do? Quite simply to avoid you unnecessary and additional trips to the stores because you forgot your shopping list. We have all experienced this situation. We all realized, when we unpacked the shopping at health home, that we were missing a product. Deep learning algorithms will be able to learn and recognize new types of food based on their experience. They will be able to process millions of generic images of food packaging. As a result, the more users around the world, the faster the learning and the smarter the refrigerator.

Obviously, other refrigerators have the ability to allow you to look inside from a distance. But the scientific team dedicated to this project at Microsoft worked directly with Liebherr, on this prototype, to make it a learning refrigerator that does not require any human intervention. Here, you don't need a camera in the fridge to see what's inside. Technology goes without human eyes. The refrigerator will be completely autonomous.

Like I told you, this fridge is just a prototype for now. However, if all goes well, this type of product could very quickly arrive on the market. A good solution for all those who are allergic to shopping lists!
