Creation of a university diploma of "smart health connected health technician"

This diploma responds to "a desire of the sector to create a professional sector adapted to new health needs in a context of increasing numbers of chronic patients followed outside the hospital," said Air Liquide Healthcare.

The goal is to "train future respiratory technicians in the health home health delivery that accompany patients with chronic diseases". After the definition of the treatment by the doctor, the technician "ensures its initiation, the implementation of the medical device, the follow-up and the motivation of the patient and his entourage", completed the company.

The training is provided by teachers from the University of Paris (resulting from the merger of the Paris-Descartes and Paris-Diderot universities) and the "Air Liquide Healthcare experts". It is composed of "theoretical and practical" lessons.

"In addition to medical and technical knowledge in physiology, pathophysiology, regulation and metrology, the course offers practical courses in oxygen therapy, sleep, ventilation as well as modules on the relationship with the patient, data protection or remote monitoring", was it detailed in the press release.

In 2019, a "first pilot promotion brought together twenty technicians from Air Liquide Healthcare, to deepen their knowledge and validate student expectations and educational content."

The training will be open to the public from the start of the academic year 2020-2021.
