[ad_1]
Invited by UBIFRANCE and supported by OSEO to represent France at CES 2014 in Las Vegas, the Lyonnaise start-up Cityzen Sciences has no other ambition than to become “the pioneer of intelligent textiles”. Nice project for this company which manages a consortium of companies refocused around the Smart Sensing industrial program:
Industrial (Payen and Eolane)
Academic(Institut Mines-Télécom, via Télécom Bretagne)
Specialized distributors(Cyclelab)
ENSCI and CEA-LETI
In addition to the two agencies mentioned below, the Ministry of Productive Recovery and the BPI are supporting the effort, which aims to breathe new life into the Lyonnaise region, the former French textile capital. Good choice for France, since the program was awarded the prize “Everyady Health Award for Innovation” during CES – Cocorico!
D-Shirt, the digital shirt by Cityzen Sciences
After its competitors Hexoskin and OMSignal, it is now the turn of Cityzen Sciences to present a smart health connected garment the D-Shirt (for Digital Shirt), the objective of which is to help users measure their physical activity: respiratory rate, heart rate, GPS or altimeter, everything is calculated using micro-sensors integrated into the fabric. To retrieve the data and be able to share it on social networks, you will need a smartphone running iOs or Android. However, Cityzen Sciences does not aim to become a fabric manufacturer, but wishes to resell the technology to specialized manufacturers.
To develop this smart T-Shirt, Cityzen Sciences was able to rely on major sports clubs such as Stade Toulousain, AS Saint Etienne or ASVEL which all lent themselves to the game, and validated its effectiveness. The second clothing target, the healthcare market, which could effectively measure hypertension via this system. The concept is now proven, it only remains to market it …
The Cityzen Sciences D-Shirt was only a prototype and will certainly be available in mid-2014, but no price has been disclosed yet.
