Dash Button – Amazon presents its smart health connected button

Amazon has just presented its Dash Button: a smart health connected button that allows you, by pressing once, to order a specific product.

Dash Button is equipped with a reusable adhesive as well as a hook which allows it to be fixed on a wall, a table, an electrical appliance, etc. The idea is that when you run out of a product, like coffee for example, just press the smart health connected button near your coffee machine to order it from Amazon and get it delivered quickly.

The Dash Button is sort of an extension of the Dash remote that Amazon launched last year in limited beta. The brand also presented a scanner that allows you to walk around your health home and scan the barcode of products to buy from Amazon.

Each button controls a specific product. When launched, the online retail giant said it would offer around 18 buttons; including for baby food, coffee, paper towels, etc.

Amazon has opened its Dash service to developers, entrepreneurs, and manufacturers so they can integrate it with their products or services. Brother printers, Brita water filters and Whirlpool washing machines plan to incorporate this automated and simplified control function.
