Delta Smart – The Garmin smart health connected Dog Collar

Garmin announced the Delta Smart: an activity tracking device for dogs. It was designed to keep your canine companion safe, healthy and well behaved.

Delta Smart is therefore a small tracker that attaches to a dog collar and communicates with your smartphone (iOS and Android), allowing you not only to track your dog's activity, but also to use it as a training device .

You will be able to monitoring the dog’s activity to see how active it is throughout the day, and even how many times it has barked. But Garmin explains that the heart of the product is the training system that allows you to use tones, vibration, and stimulation (a small electric shock) to condition your dog's behavior. Rest assured, the dog will not be electrocuted but will feel a little itch. You will be able to look at the data over time to see which of the stimuli is most effective in correcting your puppy's habits.

Garmin has already marketed a few dog training collars available in the Delta range. But what changes with the Smart version is that the brand has added the activity and health dimension to its collar. Garmin also presented the Keep Away Tags. These are small sensors that will prevent your dog from going to certain places where you do not want him to go; the trash for example. They will also let you know where your dog has gone while you were at work.
