During the Google I / O, David Singleton presented all the details on the Android Wear OS for smartwatches. The Moto 360, the LG G Watch and the Samsung Gear Live were presented. An SDK is available immediately.

If many Internet users wondered about the usefulness of the giant metal structure on stage at the start of the conference, it was simply a countdown … which obviously reminded the watch – smart health connected!

A long-awaited theme of Google I / O, Sundar Pichai arrived on stage with a watch particularly highlighted (see image below) above his sweater. From then on, we knew that Android Wear and watches would be a staple of the conference … In this case, it was about Moto 360.

Then followed a real parade: First David Burke, director of engineering at Google made his appearance with yet another model of wrist watch – the LG G Watch. Very different from the first, we knew then that there would not be one, but several smart health connected watches that would be presented during the Google I / O. It's not really a surprise since LG and Motorola were already announced as two precursor models with Android Wear.

Then it was Avni Shah (Chrome Product Manager) on stage with a watch quite similar to David Burke.

Android Wear, an SDK available today

David Singleton arrives on stage to give details of Androir Wear, announced 3 months ago. Android Wear is an integral part of what Sundar Pichai called “contextually aware”: getting information at the right time, in the right place. In the car, on a bike, Android Wear is ideal.

“There’s a huge opportunity to bring user experiences to (wearables). That’s why we’re building Android Wear. Android Wear makes it easier for developers to reach users on these devices, using the exact same tools they’re already using. ”

Besides, the applications downloaded on the smartphone are directly available on the smartwatch. It was with the Moto 360 and the Eat 24 app (ordering meals online) that Singleton demonstrated it. Smartphone notifications will all be automatically sent back to the smart health connected watch.

Using Voice will be one of the features that will be further improved, although it is already extremely practical: it is possible to order a taxi (via Lyft, "OK Google, call me a car"), organize meetings, or even save marks. Google Now allows you to intelligently display upcoming appointments, flights or other planned trips on the smart health connected watch.

David Singleton also announced that a Android Wear SDK would be immediately available for developers. The hall cheers for the news. Three watches are finally announced: The Moto 360, LG G Watch and Samsung Gear Live. The rumor that Samsung was going to present one is therefore verified!

As for the Samsung Gear Live and the LG G Watch, they will be available in the evening on the Google Play Store. It will be necessary to "wait for summer" to see the Moto 360 come out (the room pushes an "ohh" of disappointment).
