This smart coffee mug designed by Ember lets you choose the exact temperature of your coffee and lets you consume it at that temperature for hours.

This smart coffee mug connects to your phone via Bluetooth and allows you to set an ideal temperature for everything you drink (up to 145 degrees Fahrenheit). Once the drink reaches this temperature. After two hours of inactivity, the cup will automatically enter sleep mode for safety, but if you continue to move it, it will keep the drink warm.

On the outside, it looks like an ordinary cup, but under its double wall hides complex technology. Four integrated sensors make it possible to follow the temperature and a microprocessor in the base of the cup makes it possible to manage the heating.

Two years ago, Ember launched its first product: a matte black thermostable travel mug. It allowed users to heat and cool their drinks to the right temperature. This new version offers a more worked design and especially closer to the cups that we all have in our cupboards.

"This is Tesla's business model," said Clay Alexander, CEO of Ember. "We first launched a premium product: a travel mug with a digital screen and phase change cooling. At 150 dollars, sales were still incredible. The new ceramic mug will cost $ 79 and is available exclusively from Starbucks and the Ember website.

In the future, Clay Alexander wants to manufacture temperature-controlled plates but also glassware and service items. He is also developing a baby bottle. The key to its success: improving common products through technology to develop the user experience.
