E-Zicom democratizes friction blenders
[ad_1]
Friction blenders are now widely known, but the prices are not intended for all budgets. The Super Blender EZIchef® Blendy one from E-Zicom intends to become the exception that proves the rule.
Friction blenders are devices that abandon the traditional method of cooking based on resistances to adopt a slightly more muscular approach. The idea is to rotate the blades at the bottom of the container at very high speed to create a friction phenomenon (hence their name) in order to raise the temperature of the different ingredients. Popularized by Riviera & Bar and its BL 870A (soberly stamped The Boss), this way of doing things is intended to be faster than conventional heating since a soup program on this type of blender lasts less than 10 min, whereas it takes 20 min approximately on a resistance model.
What is more, theoretically, mixing with a friction blender must be more efficient because of a very powerful motor which drives the blades at a speed high enough to spray any type of food without breaking a shot. This supercharged engine is nevertheless extremely noisy: some manufacturers have tried original approaches to limit nuisance (we remember in particular the noise canceling bell of the Philips Innergizer Blender), but it is still difficult to bear a noise level that briskly exceeds 80 dB (A) for the duration of a soup program.
Even if the friction blenders see their prices drop, they are still relatively expensive devices compared to other less powerful models. It is therefore rare to find less than 150 €. E-Zicom's Super Blender EZIchef® Blendy one is therefore an entry-level product since it was launched at this price and can already be easily obtained for € 80. However, despite the concessions made by the manufacturer, the technical data sheet seems solid.
It announces for example a power of 1500 W, which seems entirely appropriate for this type of device. The engine block accommodates the control panel which consists of a switch on the left to start or stop mixing and a pulse button (on the right) which delivers all the power of the machine as long as it is maintained. Between the two, a wheel allows to precisely vary the speed of rotation of the blades. The buttons for automatic programs, which are generally found for making soups, crushing ice, making a smoothie, etc., are lost. In addition, no timer has been provided and it will therefore be up to the user to stop the rotation of the blades himself.
The bowl of the Super Blender EZIchef® Blendy one is made of plastic and reaches a volume of 2 l. As is the case with the vast majority of friction blender containers, it does not disassemble to give access to the four-blade knife and facilitate cleaning. E-Zicom specifies however that it can be put in the dishwasher. The cover (pierced with a hole for inserting food during mixing, closed by a plug) uses a system of seals to guarantee watertightness, and rubber “tabs” grip a rim that runs all around the bowl to maintain it. Please note that no security system seems to prevent rotation of the blades if the cover is not in place, or sufficiently sealed. Good point, it is possible to place it on the engine block by orienting the shackle to the left or to the right; this is not always the case despite an estimated left-handed population of 15%.
Launched at 150 € a few months ago, you can very easily get the Super Blender EZIchef Blendy one for 80 €.
