The first smart health connected stethoscope to be approved by the US FDA is available in the United States. It is a module to be smart health connected to a stethoscope which transcribes the heartbeat within an application and which helps the doctor to make a diagnosis.

This module, designed by Eko, is smart health connected to a conventional stethoscope and allows the recording of a patient's heartbeat on an application. The latter then displays an EKG via the Eko Core's Bluetooth and then allows it to be saved (to compare it with other EKGs) or in certain cases to analyze it using a proprietary algorithm and compare it to a database to find out whether or not there is a problem. In all cases, the company indicates that its application does not provide any diagnosis but simply adds additional means of analysis to the doctor.

The Eko Core is the first smart health connected stethoscope to be approved by the FDA (Food and Drug Administration), the US administration responsible for medical devices.
