fall asleep with Sleepion, wake up with SensorWake

In the smart health connected sleep market, there are many contenders for the throne at CES 2016 in Las Vegas. Sleepion com Cheero plays in a particular category, causing a sensitive and fragrant sleep. SensorWake offers a contrary system, awakening by odors.

The Las Vegas show won't open until tomorrow, but some smart health connected objects are getting a sneak preview. This is the case with smart health connected sleep devices. We already told you about Sleepace's Nox, a system to quantify and help sleep, as well as Samsung's Sleepsense Today, we present to you two particular devices which put to sleep and wake up by tickling your nose.

CES 2016: Sleepion, a system based on scientific research

Cheero, a Californian company, imagined Sleepion, a device with a strange design causing sensitive sleep. It offers a three-in-one system using sounds, lights, and sweet smells. The kinds of horns contain the loudspeakers which broadcast 16 relaxing sound loops of 45 minutes each. On the program, sounds of rain, wind, a stream of water, etc.

The LED lamp present in the object imitates the light of the moon, and is also close to the luminescence of a candle. To achieve this result, the designers decided on an intensity of 2700 Kelvin and a luminance of 35%, which gives a weak and soothing light.

In the center of the device, the circle can contain three types of essential oils: lavender, cedarwood and geranium. By pouring three drops of one of these oils, the scent is diffused through microscopic holes and activated by the vibrations of the speakers. The combination of these techniques makes it easier for the user to find sleep.

Based on research by Doctor Shimitzu, a Japanese sleep specialist, Sleepion seeks to imitate natural sounds, lights and smells in order to induce a deep and restful sleep. The combination of these three therapies aims to improve recovery cycles.

For the moment, this sleep stimulator has not yet seen the light of day. A kickstarter campaign is underway, Cheero has obtained 10,000 dollars out of the 15,000 dollars claimed, he has 26 days left to successfully conclude the financing for Sleepion. The delivery of the product is still scheduled for March 2016.

Sensorwake, or the smell of a hot croissant when you wake up

SensorWake offers the reverse function, wake you up with pleasant smells. Here the alarm clock does not use relaxing sounds or lights. Everything goes through smells. This classic-looking alarm clock contains a capsule container within it, like a coffee machine. So, it emulates smells of croissants, coffee, the sea, greenery, chocolate and mint.

If that is not enough to wake you up, an emergency alarm takes over. According to tests by the startup behind SensorWake, subjects wake up 99% of the time in less than two minutes.

This creation is the work of a young French entrepreneur, Guillaume Rolland, 18. The young man was selected by French Tech. He went through Kickstarter and raised almost $ 200,000 to complete his project. The alarm clock offered at 85 euros for pre-order, will be delivered in June 2016, then marketed in stores in November. The first pack of scent is offered, the refill costs all the same 100 euros.

The combination of the two accessories seems entirely possible. By combining these two innovations, you will fall asleep with the scent of lavender and the sound of rain, and wake up to the scent of coffee. We will have to wait all the same for the release of Sleepion and SensorWake, not until next March.
