Felcana unveils a smart health connected collar for animals

Felcana will soon unveil a new digital health platform that will allow cat or dog owners to monitoring the health of their pet and gather information on their behavior.

Felcana’s new Health monitoring Kit will initially be launched with a smart health connected collar, the Helix; which focuses on 24 hour data collection; and alerting owners of any behavioral or physiological abnormality while providing veterinary advice.

With his AI system, Felcana also claims to be able to detect and predict the early stages of illnesses, such as diabetes and arthritis. Thanks to the data also stored in the companion application, it can be used as a tool for veterinarians seeking to diagnose the condition of a pet. Owners can even control a light on the collar through the app, in case they need to locate their stray animal in the dark.

Interestingly, Felcana says the Helix is ​​the first in a line of products currently under development; and that will monitoring the general welfare of pets. And although there is no indication of how things could branch out from here, the company said everything will be focused on the smartphone app.

Naturally, although all this sounds good on paper but we do not yet know how this monitoring works. The company has yet to give much information on its new platform. What we already know is that the Helix is ​​waterproof; so there is no danger if your pet likes to swim, but the extent and accuracy of its tracking is still unknown.
