Fitbit Ace 2 – Fitness monitoring for children
Fitbit announced the second generation of its fitness tracker for children, the Fitbit Ace 2. The original Fitbit Ace was designed for children aged 8 and over; but the new model is suitable for children six and older, according to the company.
The Fitbit Ace 2 offers a new design, fun colors and patterns, as well as kid-friendly features and challenges. It offers a five-day battery life, an easy-to-use touch screen, an adjustable silicone strap and a number of new clock faces and goal celebrations specially designed for children.
The new tracker also has a built-in bumper that protects the screen to prevent the screen from being scratched or damaged when your child plays; while the silicone wrist strap allows easy cleaning of the Ace 2. As your child grows, the Ace 2 screen can also be combined with the Fitbit Inspire HR wristbands which gives them a slightly more adult look . It must be said, that the look is still very marked! As you can see above, the colors are also quite garish.
The Fitbit Ace 2 also has parental controls to protect privacy. Also, it allows parents to check their child's activity and sleep patterns; via the Fitbit app in a family-specific section.
You can buy the Fitbit Ace 2 from the end of March for £ 69.99. The watch will be available in three color options; the colors are watermelon, night sky and neon yellow. There are also additional colors and accessory options, including classic silicone bracelets, printed bracelets and Inspire HR bracelets for older children. Accessories start at £ 19.99.
